Time To Say Good Bye For 5 Dragon Boat Rowers
Today is the day where 5 of the
dragon boat rowers will be cremation at Mandai Crematorium. More than 1000
strong crowd break down in tear during the funeral service. Unfortunate, I am
working so am able to go down. It make me feel sad and regret.
Singapore ministers, Dr Vivian
Balakrishnan, Minister for community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and Mr
Teo Ser Luck, MCYS' Parliamentary secretary attended the funeral with officials
from the Singapore Sports Council and Singapore Dragon Boat Association. Both
ministers was upset with tears.
Dr Balakrishnan said with
reddened eyes: The Loss of a son or a daughter is a parent's worst nightmare,
and one week ago, this nightmare came true. I'm so very sorry. There's nothing I
can say or do that can fill the painful emptiness in your hearts, and I also
know that your lives will never be the same again. But I want you to know that
your sons have touched so many lives in so many ways. They were the best that
Singapore could offer and they wore our flag proudly. And Singapore is proud of
them. We are proud of these fine young men and we are grateful to the families
for letting them represent the best of Singapore.
After that each of the 5 victims
families tributes to them. After tributes their loved one. One minute of silent
was observed before the National flag which was draped over the coffins were
then folded and Dr Balakrishnan handed over to the families of the five rowers.
The families then proceeded to separate halls for the cremations.
Our President, S R Nathan has
written to Cambodia king Norodom Sihamoni to thank him for his condolences and
his country efforts in the search and recovery operations. The Chinese
Newspaper, Shin Ming Daily Newspaper reported that my idol, Reuben Kee seem to
feel there's bad omen as he composed one song, 'Back Home'.
This is the song which Reuben Kee
had written:
Back Home
There's a place that you will always know
It is where your heart knows it's home
And if you need to run from trouble or despair
It is where to go
Run back home
I went faraway to see the world alone
To places in my dreams
But the best dreams came when I was dreaming them at home
Every bird sees the sky as its home
To just fly and be free is a joy
Each night I have dreamt of being free to fly
But I've always known
The sky is not home
I went far away to see the world alone
To places in my dreams
But the best dream came
When I was dreaming them at home
The best dreams came
When I was dreaming them at home
Back Home
When I walk past the newspaper
stand, everyone was rushing to get the copy of the Shin Ming Daily newspaper or
Lian He Wan Bao. As the headline wrote" Reuben compose "Back
Home" as Bad Omen. Many people are upset and they feel that it pity to pass
away so young. Why could such thing happen to them. I keep every single
newspaper which it reported about this incident.
No one could expect this could
happen. Many people lives wont be the same without 5 of them. Things changed.
They will be remembered deeply in our heart. Never make regret when your loved
one are alive. Show them you care, show them you love them. You can visit to the
website, http://www.omy.sg/news/localnews/200711/20071129_007_dragonboat.html
to listen to Reuben last compose song, Back Home. I'm sure it will impact and
touches your heart. Or you could able hear the music from my Blog to be
remembered him always.
Now, all this newspaper which
reported for the past few days, I will be kept it as treasure. Those who knew them, please take
good care of yourself, I am sure they would not want us to be sad and want us to
be happy. I know it hard to face that they are dead and gone. I know you feel as
I had lost my loved one twice and now my idol Reuben Kee also gone.. Good bye my
idol, sleep well.

wool.
