On 28 March 2009, Singapore will
join the WWF by fighting against climate change by switching OFF THE LIGHT to
vote for Earth from 8.30pm- 9.30pm.
People of all ages,
nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their switch as
their vote by switching OFF your lights is a vote for Earth. Or leaving them ON
is a vote for global warming.
Earth Hour began in Sydney in
2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one
hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with
50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the
Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome¡¦s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House
and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.
I am sure that Singapore could do
this as well! Let us join our hand and fight against climate change. Let us
switch OFF our Light for an Earth Hour from 8.30pm-9.30pm on 28 March 2009.
Let's us spread this news to everyone so that we could fight against climate
changes together!
Not only by switching OFF the
Light, you could set your Air-Condition at 25 degree, bring your own shopping
bag, stop asking for more plastic bag from the cashier counter. We also can
Reuse, Reduce and Recycle of our items which we always use.
You can visit to the website www.earthhour.org/singapore
for more information and the organizations which are participating in Earth
Hour.
I will be switching OFF my light
and my mobile phone on that day to vote for the Earth.
You too, can cast the vote for
the Earth! The vote is in your hand!
Today, the news reported that according to the
latest survey by the economist Intelligence Unit that Singapore is world's 10th
most expensive city to live in. Singapore also the Asia 3rd most expensive city
to live in.

their Capital of Sydney. Sydney is the capital that I always wanted to visit! As
Sydney has many wonderful places to visit!!
On my first day in
Sydney, I will climb Sydney Harbour Bridge and see the beautiful landscape of
New South Wales.
I will close my eyes and breath the air at the bridge and listen to the boat
horning and the sea wave.
After climbing
Sydney Harbour Bridge, I will walking along the habour. After that, I will relax
and drinking a cup of warm coffee in the cafe outdoor concept. After finish
drinking, I will head down to ferry terminal and ride a ferry across the harbour
and wave at the World's Famous Opera House at the same time I will take some
landscape picture while ferry pass through the Opera House.
After that, I will
go to the Opera House and buy concert ticket and watch the performance. After
watching the performance, it is time for shopping!! There are many world-class
shopping at Sydney!!
It is time to look
for food!! Sydney offers fabulous fusion food! I will order their Fish &
Chip as their Fish is fresh and juicy! Soon, the sky turn dark and Sydney
nightlife is very lively! Furthermore, I will be thrill in their night
landscape! The lighting of the Sydney Bridge, Opera House and the building makes
the scenery very beautiful! It is very romantic!! I will take lot of pictures
and also record videos for memories!!
I will head down to
pub area and visit the Sydney oldest pub! Over there, I will be order my
favourite Vodka Coke and know people from there as Australian is very friendly to visitors. After that, I will return to the hotel to
rest which is near to the river.
I'll wake up very
early to watch the Sun Rise as Australia is the first country to see the Sun
Rise due to time differences! After that, I will walk to Rocks Markets. It is
just five minutes from Circular Quay.At
Rocks Markets, you could discover Sydney's history.
After walking to
Rocks Markets, it is time for me to visit Bondi. From there you could take in
breathtaking views of the Pacific Oceans. You can swim, enjoy walking in the
beach or even having families outing!
At night, you can
walk and eat Chinese food at Chinatown before returning back to hotel to sleep.
For the last day of
Sydney tour, I'll visit to their bookstores and browse the books and not
forgetting that there are two universities in Sydney! After that, I will try

Complicated MRT (Singapore) Line Map
Yesterday, I received an Email from one of the
reader. The reader attached a complicated MRT (Singapore) line map picture. When
I open the attachment, I am kinda stunned that indeed it is very complicated
subway line. It also linked to our neighour country, Johor Bahru, Malaysia!
Perhaps those who design this MRT map would
want Singapore subway follow Hong Kong and China subway line where both border
subway are side by side when they passed through the custom.
I also not sure if this complicated MRT line
will be our future MRT line but this will be very convenience for everyone as
for every 100m, there will be MRT station infront of our door step!
Thank you for sending me this complicated MRT
Line Map.
Serving my National Service (NS) is getting
tougher and tougher. Everything start to change, there will be re-organize for
all department organization. Sometime, things which I should not be involved but
I have to do as they simply do not care if you are excuse a not.
Yesterday, I was quarreling with people as I
really could not endure anymore. There are so much pressure and stress for me to
take! Where is the morale? Is there a way
or medium which we could confront our feeling and emotions? Today, Main HQ
people called us that all of us have to go for swim as part for the unit
anniversary which held tomorrow. Despite you do not know how to swim or scare of
swimming, everyone have to swim total lap of 16!
What if something happen to us, who are going
to answer for our families? Who are going to responsible for this matter? Where
is their slogan, Care for Solider. At the same time, they told us that all of us
at the sub-unit are not able to play bowling and we have to choose air-shooting.
We really not excited in this anniversary.
Today, I tried to call my counsellor but the call center told me that she is
busy. I just want to find someone to talk and also about the swimming. As most
of the people knew that I scare of swimming due to since young I almost drown in
East Coast Park.
I really have enough of it!! I also thought of
ending my life again! I really not sure what should I do. I really want to cry..
I have enough in NS!! How long can I endure?
Today is Total Defence Day. At
1205 hours, Islandwide could hear the sound of peace to remind all Singaporean
that the war is over and we should not take our peace for granted. We should be
pay a respect to our forefathers who fought for our peace during the World War 2
when Imperial Japanese Army invaded the then colony of Singapore from the
British.
The Japanese rename the then
colony of Singapore as 昭和の時代に得た南の島Shōnan-tō, which is mean Island of the light of the South. The
Japanese occupation is the darkest period of Singapore history. Many civilian
suffered from the Japanese troops. Women was forced into sexual slavery where
the Japanese troops will raped them.
Many of them lost their lives
from this war. The British repossessed Singapore on 12 September 1945, a month
after the Japanese Surrender. This was the worst nightmare ever!
How we going to defence Singapore
from all the terrorist? We should maintain our peace and racial harmony to this
genderation to next genderation. You can visit to official website at http://www.totaldefence.sg
